This has long been one of my favourite gardens.
The original castle at Scotney was “romantically ruined” by a previous owner to make one of the interesting features in the garden, another, the quarry - was planted as a rock garden after it had been used to obtain building material for the house.
The house and garden are now in the care of the National Trust and both are open to the public
